Posting A Story

How To Add a Story:

1. You must be registered / logged in click here to register
2. On our homepage, look for the Living Legacies & Legends section bottom right-hand corner
3. Click on “Write Your Story” note: this title only appears on the homepage if you are logged in.
4. A new page will appear, called "New Entry", scroll down the page to either learn about detailed instructions, sample interview questions or you can go ahead and enter your story and pictures.

“Living Legacies & Legends” is a new feature of our website dedicated to the inspirational stories of living elderly parents or parents who have died. There are two types of stories that are welcomed here. 1. "Living Legacies" These are stories of living parents as told by themselves and also by those closest to them, be they families, friends or neighbours. 2. "Legends" These are stories that sons and daughters of all ages may share about parents who has died.

In the spirit of honouring all parents, we invite everyone to celebrate the lives of parents by placing stories and pictures on our website at no cost. This section has been designed as a multi-media forum that allows people to submit videotaped interviews via YouTube or contribute traditional text-based content and photographs. For those fortunate enough to have parents, grandparents or other elderly relatives and friends alive, we offer a unique and lasting way to honour and celebrate their lives today. Personal reflections by real people whose experiences have spanned decades can enrich, comfort and inspire us in our own lives. Take advantage of this opportunity to listen, learn, and share!

Ideal Contributors:

• Those who like to write, have pictures or videos to share
• Those who enjoy telling their own story and enjoy telling stories of thier own parents
• Sons and daughters (of all ages) with a desire to honour their parents, grandparents or other senior family members and friends

Special Invitation to Seniors:

We are very interested in your own stories. We are also equally interested in stories of your parents.

We are pleased to have one of our volunteers help with any technical issues that you have about posting your story. If you have any questions or just need a little help, Samer will be able to help you. Samer will get back to you within 48 hours during the week, and perhaps a bit longer on the weekends.
